Kat ("we," "us," "Kat") is an AI career agent that helps job seekers in Nigeria and across Africa build a CV, find roles, apply, and prepare for interviews — primarily through WhatsApp. This policy explains what information we collect when you use Kat and how we handle it.
2. Information we collect
When you use Kat, we collect the information you choose to share in the course of building your profile and using the service, including:
- Your WhatsApp number, used to identify your account
- Your name, location, and contact details
- Your CV content — education, employment history, and skills, whether uploaded as a document or built through conversation with Kat
- Your target role, location preferences, and minimum salary expectations
- The content of your conversations with Kat, including questions you ask the career coach
- Subscription and payment information processed through our payment partners
3. How we use your information
We use the information you provide to:
- Match you with relevant job listings and score how well each one fits your profile
- Build, store, and refine your CV
- Draft applications and cover letters for roles you approve
- Schedule interviews and prepare role-specific coaching
- Provide career coaching responses tailored to your background
- Process subscription billing and manage your account
- Improve the quality and accuracy of Kat's matching and coaching over time
4. How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in the following circumstances:
- With an employer, but only for a specific job listing and only after you've explicitly approved that application
- With WhatsApp/Meta, as the messaging infrastructure that powers our conversations with you
- With Anthropic, whose AI models process your messages to generate matching, coaching, and CV-related responses
- With our payment processors (Paystack and/or Flutterwave) to handle subscription billing securely
- Where required by law, regulation, or a valid legal process
5. Data retention
We retain your profile, CV, and conversation history for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward in case you return. You can request deletion of your data at any time using the contact details below.
6. Your rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and applicable data protection law, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate data, request deletion of your data, and withdraw consent to processing at any time. 7. Data security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of data transmitted to or stored by Kat.
8. Children's privacy
Kat is intended for users who are at or above the legal working age in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Kat evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
